Today in class the students practiced peer editing. I modeled with them good feedback and how we can support one another and help each other without being critical of one another’s writing. I also modeled some bad feedback and what that looked and sounded like so that they could make sure they were being helpful with their feedback. We will continue to do this throughout the year so that we can continue to help one another. The students then had time to make corrections on the computer after hearing feedback from their peer.
Tomorrow I have asked that the students bring their books so that we can get back on our reading/writing workshop schedule. This means that on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we are reading and practicing skills we learn in class and on Tuesdays and Thursdays we are writing.
Read at least 20 minutes to prepare for the book talk on science fiction and fantasy on Thursday, November 21.
Make revisions on the computer to your original myth based on your peer feedback. Please bring a new printed copy or put it on a flash drive to have on Thursday of this week.
Bring your book tomorrow to class for reading workshop!
