Today in class all classes we looked at a narrative and identified what made it a narrative. We then went through the narrative with a rubric to analyze how effective the writer wrote the narrative. We discussed what needed to be included in a narrative. This was all to review on-demand narrative writing. 7th grade students are not tested on on-demand writing, however it is something they need to continue to practice and will be tested on again next year. We will have a practice on-demand on Tuesday.
Next week is going to be a busy week…
Monday: NO School
Tuesday: On-Demand Narrative Writing in class
Wednesday: MAP Testing
Thursday: MAP Testing
Friday: This is supposed to be our library day. Currently, no one is in the library for MAP testing so I plan on taking the students to return/renew/check-out books, however this may change if the library needs to be used for make-ups.
I did not get a chance to make copies of the book project this morning because our network was down all morning and so I could not even log-in to the computer to print. I told the students about the project and will post all the information on Google Classroom today. They will receive a hard copy on Tuesday that they will need to return with a parent signature on Wednesday. Just an FYI…
- Read at least 20 minutes of your independent reading book. First essay is due on 9/30 but may be turned in sooner. Please see Google Classroom. Hard copy detailing the project will go home on Tuesday.
- Core: Complete 30 minutes of MobyMax Reading Skills Literature by 9/9.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
